Roberto Zayas PhD

Community Chair

After graduating from the University of Puerto Rico with a degree in Biology, Roberto moved to Minnesota to pursue a Ph.D. in Neuroscience and a J.D. in intellectual property. Roberto has experience in legal practice, technology transfer, academia, and developing innovation and entrepreneurship programs for college students. In order to achieve this, Roberto has worked with the world-renowned Mayo Clinic, the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management, multiple incubators/accelerators in the upper-midwest, and biotech companies in Norway. Currently, Roberto is the Tech IP Development Manager at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester Minnesota. In his free time, Roberto enjoys riding his bikes, working on electronics projects, and camping with his family and friends. He has been a mentor of Technovation[MN] and is looking forward to playing a larger role with the organization to inspire girls to pursue STEM.
