It’s no secret that women are underrepresented in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) fields, and at Technovation[MN] we take that seriously. Take our co-founder and executive director, Shawn Stavseth, for example. Through her volunteer work with Technovation[MN] and her professional career, Shawn is one of the many women across the U.S. who is drawing attention to the gender gap in tech and leading innovative technology initiatives.
On May 17, Shawn received a 2018 WoM2M award from Connected World at a gala in San Francisco, recognizing her achievements as a technology leader. She was among 41 other women, many of whom represent some of the most innovative companies in the country, to receive a WoM2M award.
Two others from Technovation[MN] were also in attendance for the WoM2M awards. Annette Evans, Technovation[MN] finance chair, and Jean Weiss, Code Savvy founder and Technovation[MN] regional ambassador, were both asked to be judges. Annette was a WoM2M award recipient in 2013 and Jean was a recipient in 2014.
Congratulations to Shawn for receiving a 2018 WoM2M award!
